Beatrice “Yvonne” Masur, age 82, of Stratford passed away peacefully at Clinton Public Hospital on January 03, 2018.

Born in Lakefield, New Brunswick, daughter of the late William and Kathleen (Gratten) McLaughlin. Beloved wife to George Masur for 59 years. Loving mother of Sonja Kerekes, Sherry Masur-Smith (Paul) and Donna Lobsinger (Mark). Grandmother of Evan Kerekes (Kristin), Briar and Mckenna Smith, Bryn and Jenna Lobsinger. Great grandmother of Maddox Kerekes. Dear sister of Sister Patricia McLaughlin and Rita McAlinden. Also survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Lucian Masur (Tina), Greg Masur (Rita), Art Masur (Marie), Barb Armstrong, Edna Crown, Carolyn Dykas, Monica McLaughlin, Shawn Essex and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her father-in-law and mother-in-law Alex and Alice Masur, a sister Deanie Haines (Bob), brothers Larry McLaughlin, Bill McLaughlin, brothers-in-law Jerry Masur (Irene), Brian Masur, Kaz Dykas and a sister-in-law Dorothy Kennedy (Bernard).

Yvonne was an avid and loving cheerleader of her grandchildren at all sporting events. She was a dedicated fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Blue Jays and especially the Stratford Junior B Hockey Club for 50 years. Yvonne volunteered with Telecare, Optimism Place and the Stratford Junior B Booster Club. She was known for lighting up a room with her wonderful Irish sense of humour and lived her life to the fullest. Yvonne was guided each and every day by her family, faith and friends. Yvonne was a member of St. Joseph’s and Immaculate Conception Parish Cluster.

Visitation at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Wednesday, January 10, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. (Parish Prayers at 1:45 p.m.) The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 96 Huron Street, Stratford on Thursday, January 11 at 11 a.m. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall.
