Income tax return deadline quickly approaching

The end of the month is quickly coming up on us and with it the deadline to file your income tax return.

Your return must be filed to the Canada Revenue Agency by April 30th and that’s also the deadline to pay any balance you might have left over from last year’s personal income tax return, you could be on the hook to pay penalties if you don’t pay it by then.

Paul Murphy with the Canada Revenue Agency says there are a few credits you wont be able to apply for this year.

“One of them is the children’s arts credit and also the children’s fitness tax credit, those are no longer on the tax returns.”

You can find a tax calculator at www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency.html if you need some help with your return.
