Petition launched to keep tavistock pig farmer who pleaded guilty to animal cruelty from owning animals

An animal rights organization says a Tavistock pig farmer who pleaded guilty to animal cruelty shouldn’t be allowed to own animals again.

Twenty-eight-year-old Benjamin Stein pleaded guilty to four counts of animal cruelty back in January following the deaths of over 1-thousand pigs that were in his care in Langton in 2017.

Kitchener-Waterloo Animal Save have started a petition that has over 11-thousand signatures on it asking for a ban to be put on Stein when it comes to owning and taking care of animals.

The petition was given to crown attorney’s office last Wednesday.

He has yet to be sentenced.
