National day of mourning events being held in stratford

Stratford is planning to come together to mark the National Day of Mourning.

The day is this Saturday and its held to commemorate workers who have been killed, injured or suffered illness due to workplace related incidents and hazards.

A ceremony is being held at the bandshell in Upper Queens Park where speakers including Stratford Mayor Dan Mathieson and Perth-Wellington MP John Nater will share their thoughts and remarks on the occasion.

Before it starts, two moments of silence will be held, one in memory of those killed in the bus crash involving the Humboldt Broncos hockey team and another to remember those killed this past week in the van attack in Toronto.

The ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m.
