The Festival and Avon theatres in Stratford have been cleared and Festival staff has been allowed back in.
The search of the buildings and property wrapped up at 4:00 this morning. The Stratford Police Service was assisted by a Hamilton Police Service explosive trained dog.
Nothing was found during the searches.
The Stratford Police are now investigating the threat as a criminal incident.
The Festival will open to the public tonight, but there will be increased security. The opening night performance of “The Tempest” was cancelled because of the threat but all tickets will be honoured.
