Heat Warning issued for Perth County

With the temperature and the humidex expected to be high over the weekend, a heat warning has been issued for Perth County.

The Perth District Health Unit says the temperature and the humidex are expected to be extreme for the next several days and they are reminding people to take care to prevent heat-related illnesses.

They say extreme heat can cause dehydration, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and even death.

Seniors, infants and young children are at a greater risk of suffering from heat-related illness.

The temperature is expected to soar to a high of 30 on Sunday.
