Phyllis Kemp, 89, of RR1, Mitchell passed away at the Mitchell Nursing Home surrounded by family on Monday, July 9, 2018.
Beloved wife of the late Dalton Kemp (1996). Dear mother of Jim Kemp, Perry Kemp and Bev Youngson (Les). Loving grandmother of Krystle Pettapiece (Steve), Kyle Kemp (Meaghan), Amy McKenzie (John) and Wes Youngson (Tia). Cherished great grandmother of Austin, Katelyn, Oliver, Josephine, Sarah, Aidan, Reed, Dalton and Jaden. Dear sister-in-law of Vera Kemp, Betty Cowell, Anne Kemp, Marg Kemp and Shirley Zimmer (Laverne). Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Alvin and Olive Elliott, daughter-in-law Bev Kemp, brother Robert Elliott, sisters Eileen Dunn (Bert), Doris Layton (Dennis), Audrey Martin (Roy), Evelyn Reaney (Jack) and Wylda Ballantyne (Glen), sisters-in-law Evelyn Pridham (Ormand), Marg Cornish (Bill) and Faye Sager (Ernie) and brothers-in-law Gordon Kemp (Jean), Carl Vock, Cecil Cowell, Earl Kemp, George Kemp and Harold Kemp.
Phyllis and her husband Dalton delivered the mail to RR1, Mitchell for over forty years retiring in 1991. She took pride in her home, enjoyed gardening and mowing the lawn.
Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Robert Adams officiating. A reception will follow at the Lockhart Reception Centre. Interment in Bethel Munro Cemetery.
