Oxford County asking those living in Blanford-Blenheim to cut back on outdoor water use

Oxford County is asking those living in Blanford-Blenheim to reduce their outdoor water use because of the hot, dry conditions.

The county says in a release sent out Wednesday afternoon that those in Drumbo, Bright, Plattsville and Princeton are being asked to cut back as the Grand River Conservation Authority has issued a Level 1 low water condition.

They say conditions have become dry throughout the watershed with very little precipitation over the last two weeks combined with hot temperatures increasing evaporation.

Residents are being asked to reduce their water use in order to reach a 10 per cent reduction target.
