UPDATE: Stratford Library reopens after being closed due to threats

The Stratford Library reopened Thursday morning.

In a Facebook post, the staff at the library say they want to say a “big thank you to the Stratford community” for their support and understanding while they worked through this week’s challenges.

They say “we are all in this together”.

UPDATE: 2:48 P.M.

A 34-year-old man has been arrested after Stratford Police say threats were made against the city’s library.

Police sent out a release Wednesday morning asking for the public’s help in locating Aaron Sloane.

They say Sloane had also made threats against those using the library leading to its closure as a safety precaution.

According to Stratford Police, Sloane was wanted on outstanding warrants as well.

London Police were also searching for Sloane on outstanding warrants.

Police say he was located and arrested Wednesday afternoon in London.

The library remains closed as police investigate the threats.

Staff say they hope to reopen it Thursday.

Stratford Police say Sloane has been located and arrested.

They are thanking the public for their help in the search.

UPDATE: 10:21 A.M.

Stratford Police are searching for a suspect after they say threats were made against the library in the city.

They are asking for the public’s help in finding 34-year-old Aaron Sloane.

Police say Sloane also made threats against those using the library.

Sloane is also wanted by the London Police.

Anyone with any information about where Sloane are asked to contact Stratford Police.

The library remains closed as police investigate the threats.

Staff say they hope to reopen it Thursday.

The Stratford Public Library is closed today.  In a Facebook post, the library said a threat was made against the security of the building Tuesday night.

The library is closed in order to allow Stratford Police to investigate.
