Working smoke alarms credited with potentially saving family of six after house fire in Elmira

Working smoke alarms are being credited with potentially saving six people after a house fire in Elmira.

CTV News Kitchener reports the fire broke out around 7 o’clock Saturday night while the six people were inside the home on Canary Court.

The family was treated on scene by paramedics and no one was injured.

Almost 30 firefighters from Elmira and Floradale were called to the scene and put the blaze out quickly.

A cause has yet to be determined and there is no damage estimate as of yet.
