Greg Skinner preparing to take over as Police Chief in Stratford

We’re getting closer to having a new Police Chief in the City of Stratford.

Stratford native Greg Skinner has been appointed to be the top cop in our city, St. Marys and Perth South and he is set to take over the role early next month.

Skinner has had a 31-year career with the Ontario Provincial Police and is leaving the position of OPP Director of Operations at the West Region Headquarters in London.

He says taking the position is a career goal he never thought would be realized.

“I feel very blessed and lucky to be able to be coming back to my hometown to finish off my policing career, it is a very pleasant surprise that I am able to do it.”

Acting Chief of Police in Stratford Gerry Foster will also start his position as the force’s Deputy Chief of Police in early October.
