Jim Schragner, age 84, of Stratford and formerly of RR#2 Gadshill, passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on Thursday, September 20, 2018. Born in Ellice Township, son of the late Frank Schragner and the former Mabel Nowack. Beloved husband of Marleta Schragner (nee Schellenberger). Loved father of Robert Schragner (Sheri) and Susan Moeser (Douglas). Loving grandfather of Cole and Niomi Schragner and Jamie Moeser (Siarra). Also survived by his sister-in-law Alleen Bartlett Burns of Winnipeg, Manitoba and brother-in-law Don Kennedy of Stratford. Predeceased by his mother and father-in-law Irene and Earl Schellenberger and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Jim farmed most of his life and drove stock car in his younger days. He also pulled tug of war for Ellice Township, was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports, going to the casino with his wife ‘Peanut’, and his dog ‘Teddy’. Visitation at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm. The funeral service will be held at 2nd St. John’s Lutheran Church, Wartburg on Thursday at 11 am. A reception will be held in the Church following the interment in the Church Cemetery.
