Randy Pettapiece critical of previous Liberal government deficit

Randy Pettapiece says he’s shocked to learn the previous Liberal government left behind a $15 billion deficit.
In a press release, the MPP for Perth-Wellington says “We had an idea it was bad, but the news on Friday was sobering.”
He says the Independent Financial commission of Inquiry “without a doubt, confirms the previous Liberal government supported a culture of waste and mismanagement.”
Pettapiece adds that the Liberals said they balanced the budget in 2017-18 but instead had a deficit of $3.7 billion.”
Premier Doug Ford announced Monday that a committee, made up of six Tory MPPs and three New Democrats, will be created to look into the deficit which he says was a lie to people in the province.
NDP Leader Andrea Horwath says Ford’s claim is a dog and pony show and that if he thinks any cover-up was in place that he should call the police.
