No major snow expected to fall in Stratford in the near future

We don’t have to worry about a major snowfall in our area just yet.

While we saw a few flurries fall Wednesday, caused by lake effect showers which turned into flurries because of the chilly temperatures, Environment Canada says it will still be a while before we see any snow falls that accumulate here in Stratford.

With that being said, some areas north of Stratford and closer to the lakes like Mount Forest and Shelburne may see as much as 4 centimeters of snow accumulate after flurries fell overnight Wednesday.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Gerald Cheng says November is also shaping up to be a decent period weather-wise.

“There is a change in the pattern because we are below seasonal in October there is a change in the pattern and that means that we’ll be at least seasonal or even above that for Southern Ontario and that includes Stratford.”

Cheng adds that the temperature this month, on average, was below seasonal while September was above.
