Pub Evacuated Because Of Bomb Threat; One Man In Custody

Some tense moments in downtown Stratford.

On Saturday night Stratford police received a call of a bomb threat at Gilly’s Pub House on Downie Street.  The threat had been called into 9-1-1.

The police and Stratford Fire evacuated the bar and area residents.

Police say the suspect had been removed from the bar just before the bomb threat was called in and had threatened staff he was going to do it to ruin their business.

A 47-year old was arrested and charged with uttering threats, mischief, breach of probation and public mischief.

He is in custody waiting for a bail hearing.
