Community projects set to get financial boost

Some local projects designed to have a positive impact on the community are set to get a financial boost.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of Dowler-Karn Limited, a third-generation family business, and to mark the milestone the company says they have partnered with the ESSO Community Program to invest $75-thousand into local projects through the Fueling Communities Give-Away.

They say that, over the course of the nomination period, 161 projects across Southwestern Ontario have applied for funding working out to a total of almost $1.2 million.

Among those are the Stratford Perth Hospice Foundation and Stratford Perth Shelterlink.

An announcement will be made at noon Tuesday in St.Marys where we will learn just how much funding each project will receive.
