Tributes made to three long-time members of Stratford City Council

As a new Stratford City Council prepares to be sworn in, thanks are being given to those that helped pave the way.

The last regular meeting for the current Stratford City Council was held Tuesday night and, before it ended, special tributes were made to three long-time councilors who won’t be a part of things when the new Stratford City Council is sworn in on December Third.

Presentations were made at the meeting to Kerry McManus, George Brown and Frank Mark to thank them for their time in office.

Mark has served on council for 27 years, including two terms as Deputy Mayor, and he says it means a lot him that he was thanked for his time representing the city.

“It’s humbling, I don’t really have words for that, it shocks me in a way and like I say it’s humbling, again it makes me feel proud.”

Mark adds that he wont be sticking his nose into council business moving forward but he will be available should anyone want to talk about the issues that pop up.
