Skinner, Vernon Raymond

Vernon Raymond Skinner, age 87, of Stratford, passed away peacefully at Stratford General Hospital on Thursday, November15, 2018. Born in St. Marys, son of the late Russell and Isobella (Cruickshank) Skinner. Vern was lead drummer of the Perth Regiment Pipe Band since formation for many years.  Survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Marjorie (Murray) Skinner and her children Jesse McNamara, Basil McNamara, and Susan DuBray. Vernon is survived by his siblings; Thelma (Harold) Gelinas of Windsor, Jack (Gladys) Skinner of Stratford, Norm Skinner of Smith Falls and sisters-in-law Marjorie Skinner and Judy Skinner.  Besides his parents, Vernon was predeceased by his siblings, Harold Skinner, Laura Lewis, Marlene Coughlin, Bob Skinner and Bruce Skinner and sisters-in-law Teresa Skinner, Florence Skinner and his step son Paul McNamara. In keeping with Vernon’s wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
