West Perth man faces drug related charges after vehicle stop

A 25-year-old West Perth man faces an arm’s length of drug-related charges after a vehicle was stopped by police.

Huron County OPP says an officer saw two vehicles parked side by side in the middle of the road on Tile Road around 1:40 Sunday morning and the officer witnessed one of the vehicles drivers attempt an unsafe move on the road.

The officer stopped the vehicle and talked to the driver where police say it was learned that the man had a suspended driver’s license.

The driver was arrested for driving under suspension and police say they searched the man and his vehicle.

During the search, police say they discovered and seized drugs including Meth and Oxycodone and they say that cash, drug packaging materials, a weigh scale and a tool designed to open locked vehicle doors were also found.

It was also discovered that the man was breaching a condition of his court release.

He faces charges including possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and Possession of Break-in Instruments.

The man remains in custody and has a court date in Goderich scheduled for Wednesday.
