United Way Perth-Huron Hope Squared Tour comes up big

The United Way Perth-Huron annual campaign continues to get closer to its goal.

Officials say that ten days of giving and one big tour have raised $115,858 for the campaign and on Thursday UWPH staff and volunteers visited Scotiabank branches in locations including St.Marys, Stratford, and Mitchell and collected donation boxes.

In Stratford, representatives from Curtiss Wright and the Perth District Health Unit presented cheques to the UWPH with Scotiabank also handing over a matching donation of $15-thousand.

UWPH’s Hope Squared collaboration with Scotiabank is in its eighth year with the bank proving a corporate matching donation of $15-thousand.

The overall goal for this year’s campaign is $1.446-million with the money raised going to help 48 organizations and services across Perth and Huron Counties.
