The province’s police watchdog is investigating after they say a man suffered non-life threatening injuries when Stratford Police officers were arresting him.
The police were called just after 6:00 p.m. Thursday to the Wellington Street LCBO for a man causing a disturbance.
He was taken to Stratford General Hospital for treatment and because the suspect was injured during an arrest, the SIU has been called and will determine if the incident is within their mandate.
The SIU is called when police are involved and there is a death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault of a civilian.
The suspect has been charged with Causing a Disturbance and Assaulting a Peace Officer.
