Only minor injuries after police say two vehicles ended up in the river over the weekend

Stratford Police say there were only minor injuries after two vehicles ended up in the river over the weekend.

Police say the first incident happened around 7:41 p.m. Friday on Perth South Line 1 where a vehicle had slid off the road and down an embankment, rolling over into a stream.

Perth South Line 1 is the access road that leads to the River Valley Tube Slide from Highway 7.

Police say all five people inside the vehicle were able to get out on their own before officers arrived

A separate similar incident happened around the same time Saturday night, according to police, when another vehicle slid off the road, down the embankment and rolled over into the stream.

The two people in the vehicle were able to get out on their own and they then called the police and were taken to the hospital.

After each of the incidents, police say the Township was contacted and the road was treated for ice and drivers are being reminded to slow down when the roads could be slippery.
