Police: More counterfeit money in circulation in Stratford

Stratford Police say they have found more counterfeit money in circulation in the city.

Police say they were called out to Walmart on Monday about a Canadian $100 bill being found by the manager.

Officers went to the store and they say due to the inconsistencies spotted on the bills security features it was suspected to be fraudulent and was seized.

The incident comes shortly after several counterfeit American $100 bills were turned over to police in Stratford.

Business owners and the public are being reminded to familiarize themselves with the security features on all Canadian currency and to call the police if they suspect they’ve come upon counterfeit money.
