HAPPENING NOW: Extreme Cold Warning in effect for the Stratford area

Extreme Cold Warning in effect for:

  • Goderich – Bluewater – Southern Huron County
  • Listowel – Milverton – Northern Perth County
  • Stratford – Mitchell – Southern Perth County
  • Wingham – Blyth – Northern Huron County

A prolonged period of very cold wind chills continues.

Bitterly cold arctic air combined with westerly winds will result in wind chill values between minus 35 and minus 30 Thursday night.

Conditions should improve Friday as winds ease and slightly milder air begins to move into the area.

Risks are greater for young children, older adults, people with chronic illnesses, people working or exercising outdoors, and those without proper shelter.

Cover up. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.

If it’s too cold for you to stay outside, it’s too cold for your pet to stay outside.
