Stratford man charged after police say he assaulted his father with a bat

A Stratford man faces numerous charges after police say he assaulted his father with a bat.

Police say they were called out to a home in the city around 2:30 Monday afternoon where they learned that a 43-year-old man had broken into his parents’ home and assaulted his 67-year-old father with a baseball bat.

The man was brought to police headquarters where he was charged with Assault With a Weapon, Uttering Threats, Break and Enter and Mischief Under $5-thousand.

He was later released from custody and has a court date scheduled for March 18th with conditions not to contact his father.

The victim was brought to Stratford General Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries to his upper body and he was later released.
