HPHA temporarily closes St. Marys community lab

The community lab at St. Marys Memorial Hospital is temporarily closing next week.

The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance says staff requirements and recruiting problems are causing the closure.  The community lab will close on Monday, March 18 until further notice.  This will affect “walk-in patients” only and not those who are in the emergency department or inpatients.

The Laboratory Departments at HPHA’s Clinton Public Hospital, Seaforth Community Hospital, and Stratford General Hospital remain open for community patients. Hours of operations are as follows:

  • Clinton Public Hospital: Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Seaforth Community Hospital: Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Stratford General Hospital: Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Alternate laboratories for community patient specimen collection include the following:

  • LifeLabs with locations in Stratford and Listowel
  • Dynacare Laboratories a d Health Services Centre with locations in Stratford, Seaforth, and Goderich
