City to offer tours of water facilities to mark World Water Day

Have you ever wondered how your water gets to your taps?

Now you can find out on March 22nd as the City of Stratford marks World Water Day.

The city’s Environmental Services Department is holding tours of four water and wastewater facilities.

The United Nations marks the day to highlight the importance and sustainable management of freshwater around the world.

Here is the schedule of tours for March 22nd:

  1. Tour of Romeo Street Pumping Station (Water Supply)
    39 Romeo Street South – 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
  2. Tour of Water Pollution Control Plant (Wastewater Treatment)
    701 West Gore Street – 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
  3. Open House at Vivian Street Pumping Station (Wastewater Collection)
    362 Romeo Street North – 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  4. Open House at Forman Water Tower (Water Distribution)
    430 Forman Avenue – 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
