Municipalities in Perth-Wellington are getting millions in provincial funding.
MPP Randy Pettapiece made the announcement today. It is to help municipalities better deliver services to residents.
Pettapiece says, “We believe that municipalities are in the best position to both understand their unique local circumstances and determine where and how money is spent.”
The $5.5 million investment across Perth-Wellington will improve service delivery by finding smarter, more efficient ways to spend money. These include such things as service delivery reviews, development of shared services agreements, IT solutions, capital investments, and other projects.
“With today’s announcement, we are taking a different approach to fiscal management and service delivery,” said Pettapiece. “We are working with our rural municipal partners to ensure our communities in Perth-Wellington remain sustainable places to live, work, and raise a family.”
The funding to Perth Wellington is part of a $200 million funding package to 405 Ontario municipalities.
