Stratford City Council gives the green light to bring in dogs, drones and laser lights to fend off geese

Stratford is looking to another way to keep geese away.
At their meeting Monday night, Stratford City Council voted to spend $32 thousand to use trained dogs, drones and laser lights to try and keep the geese from leaving a mess on the walkways around the Avon River.
Officials say the geese won’t be hurt in the process but the goal is only to scare them away.
They say the dogs are trained to target only geese, the drone will be operated by a pilot with experience in predator intimidation and the laser lights will only be used at dusk and dawn by a trained professional with a handheld laser.
The geese, officials add, perceive the laser beam as a physical danger that is coming toward them and fly away.
