Officials searching for dog involved in biting incident in Stratford

The search is on for a dog involved in a biting incident at the Stratford Dog Park.

Officials from the Perth District Health Unit say the incident took place around 10:30 Friday morning when a person reached to open a gate at the park and a dog lunged at them.

The park is located at the corner of Packham Road and Dunn Road.

The dog is described as a small, “shepherd type” dog, possibly a mix, beige and white in colour and it was being controlled by a young woman with blonde hair in a ponytail who was also controlling a larger white dog.

Officials are investigating the incident to check if the dog has up-to-date rabies shots and if the dog is not found, the person who was bitten may need to complete a series of rabies shots.

Anyone with information about the dog is asked to contact the Perth District Health Unit.
