Ottawa is giving a funding boost to two dairy processors in St.Marys to the tune of over $2 million.
It was announced on Friday that Stonetown Artisan Cheese has been given $149,238.00 while Shepherd Gourmet Dairy, owned by Saputo, will receive $1.9 million from the federal government.
Officials say the money for Stonetown Artisan Cheese is for product offerings to be increased while the funding for Shepherd Gourmet Dairy is for expanding their production area and adding cold storage capacity.
They add that the funding will lead to the creation of new employment opportunities.
