The doors at Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board schools will be closed next week if education workers go on strike.
In an update issued Thursday, the board says the closure that could take place as of Monday is the result of an imminent inability to provide a safe learning environment for all of their students.
They add that safe arrival, controlled and secure access and general supervision are all impacted by the job action.
The board says if an agreement is reached between the Crown-Trustee Associations and CUPE or if the withdrawal of services is averted then schools will be open on Monday.
The Avon Maitland District School Board is not impacted by the current situation.
