Free program looking to connect job seekers to positions

Helping those looking for work find it.

That’s the idea behind a free four-week training program being offered by the Four County Labour Market Planning Board and Employment Ontario to those who are unemployed or underemployed.

Those behind Connect 2 Skills say its curriculum was developed in part by manufacturing employers in the area and it gets started Tuesday with the four weeks capped off by a two week paid job placement.

Jeff Staller with the program says a lot of those who take it are looking to change their lives around.

“We have people coming into the program who are looking to make a fresh start, they really want to make a change in their lives and we really want to support that.”

The program gets started Tuesday but those interested can still enrol after it starts and you can go to the Four County Labour Market Planning Board’s website to learn more.
