UPDATE: Snow Squall Watch now in effect for Stratford area

UPDATE: 4:11 P.M.

Environment Canada has issued a Snow Squall Watch for the Stratford area.

Snow squalls are forecast to develop off Lake Huron and Georgian Bay Tuesday morning and then continue through Tuesday night.

The most intense bands are likely Tuesday evening with conditions slowly improving through by Wednesday morning as winds shift to the southwest.

Strong winds will accompany these bands at times resulting in periods of blowing snow.

Local snowfall accumulations of 10 to 15 cm will be possible under the most intense bands by Wednesday morning.

Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common.

It could be another snowy day in Stratford and area.

After the rain that we saw over the past few days, Environment Canada is calling for flurries and snow squalls Tuesday with blowing snow expected during the morning.

By the time it’s all said and done, we could see around 10 centimetres on the ground.

Flurries and snow squalls are also expected for Wednesday, according to the weather agency.
