Huron East man faces charges after police say he was driving a snowmobile dangerously

A 31-year-old Huron East man faces several charges after police say he was driving dangerously on a snowmobile.

Around 9:30 in the morning on January 20th, a Huron County OPP officer reported a possible stolen snowmobile at the intersection of Tile Road and Hensall Road.

When the officer tried to stop the vehicle, the driver and passenger took off and continued southbound on Hensall Road.

Officers were able to follow the snowmobile tracks to a home on Centennial Road and when they got there, the snowmobile quickly departed toward a nearby bush lot.

Police followed the tracks for a short distance where they eventually located the driver trying to hide from police.

He was arrested while the other suspect managed to escape on the snowmobile.

The man faces charges including dangerous operation.

He has been released from custody with a court appearance on February 24th in Goderich.
