Improvements being made to the Lake Victoria shoreline

Work continues to be done on improving the Lake Victoria shoreline.

The City of Stratford is once again partnering with the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority to carry out the work with crews having already begun repairing erosion along the south shore, between Waterloo Street and Morenz Drive.

That work is expected to continue for the remainder of this week with the installation of rock and wood structures along the banks.

Officials say the aim is to rehabilitate and stabilize the shoreline, as well as to enhance aquatic life and increase biodiversity.

Lakeside Drive between Waterloo Street and Morenz Drive will be closed until Friday while the work is taking place.
