Stratford residents and businesses getting help to deal with COVID-19

The City of Stratford says it’s providing immediate relief and flexibility for residents and businesses dealing with COVID-19.
Stratford City Council met virtually Wednesday afternoon and passed a motion regarding the virus that includes measures like waiving penalties and interest related to the April 9th property tax due-date and stopping all progressive collection activities.
The motion also waives penalties, interest, late payment charges and other fees related to water and sewer billing and suspends all progressive collection activities, suspends water meter disconnections, suspends the transfer of overdue water accounts to the property tax account and provides free parking until May 31st or the commencement of the Festival Theatre season.
Residents will still have to use paid bag tags for curbside collection in the city.
