Busy weekend for Stratford Police

Two Stratford men face charges for break and enter.  Early on Saturday morning police were called to a business in the south end of the city for a report of suspicious people.  When they got there they found two men that had broken into the business.  The 31-year old and 33-year old are both from Stratford and face charges of Break and Enter, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and Breach of Probation.

A 27-year old Stratford man faces charges after he was caught trespassing.  The man was seen running through backyards near Maple Avenue and Dufferin Street on Saturday afternoon by a citizen who waved over an officer on patrol.  After a brief foot chase the man was arrested for trespassing.  A search turned up suspected methamphetamine and a large amount of cash.  He was taken to the detachment and charged with Possession of a Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.  He has a bail hearing today.

A Stratford man has a court date for possession after being stopped on an ATV.  Police say they stopped the man on Line 15 just after 11:30 Saturday morning.  As the officer approached the driver he allegedly tossed something into the grass.  A search turned up a baggie with 2.5 grams of suspected cocaine inside.  The 29-year old faces a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
