Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance adjusting visitor restrictions

The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance says it’s taking a careful, staged approach to relaxing family and caregiver presence restrictions at its locations.

Effective immediately, HPHA officials say inpatients will be permitted one visitor per day who will be allowed to visit from 8 o’clock in the morning until 8 o’clock at night with presence out of these times reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

They say patients who are in isolation precautions will not be allowed family or caregiver presence at this time but staff will help assist these patients with virtual and telephone visits.

One family member, caregiver, or guardian will also be allowed to accompany a patient in situations including childbirth, when an infant or child is attending an outpatient procedure, or when an infant or child is attending an emergency department visit.

Patients who are critically ill or receiving end-of-life care will also be allowed support by multiple family members and/or caregivers, however, only one person will be permitted at a time with the patient and family and caregivers must be 16 years or older with younger individuals considered on a case-by-case visit.

You can visit the HPHA website for more information.
