AMDSB establishes Mental Health Information and Support line

Students and families with the Avon Maitland District School Board have a new mental health resource.

The AMDSB has launched a Mental Health Information and Support phone number, and they say students or families can call for information, for mental health support, or even a referral or

connection to another local service provider.

The service, staffed by Avon Maitland’s Mental Health and Well-being Team, will be available Monday to Thursday from 9 o’clock in the morning until 3 o’clock in the afternoon all summer.

The number is 226-378-8931.

Officials say at the support line is not for students in crisis or in need of emergency response and in those situations, you should call the police or the Huron Perth Crisis Line.
