Police charge driver after collision involving a hydro pole

A 24-year-old Perth East resident has been charged after police say they lost control of their vehicle and struck a hydro pole.

Just before 6:30 in the morning on July 28th,  Perth County OPP say they received a report of a single vehicle collision on Line 76 in Perth East.

Police determined the driver was reaching in the back seat while the vehicle was moving, causing them to lose control, enter the ditch, and strike a hydro pole.

The pole broke, causing hydro to be affected at nearby residences.

No one was injured in the collision and the driver has been charged with Careless Driving.
