Police: Major meth bust made in St.Marys

Police say a major meth bust has been made in St. Marys.

Just before 4 o’clock Wednesday morning, Stratford Police say an officer saw a 36-year-old man known who was known to him in the town.

SPS says the man was was walking along Queen Street and he was known to have an outstanding warrant for offences including Forcible Confinement and Mischief.

They say he took off running after the officer approached him and told him that he was under arrest.

A short foot chase ensued; however the officer quickly caught up to him and placed him under arrest without further incident.

A search of the male’s property, subsequent to the arrest, resulted in the discovery of 25.5 grams of suspected crystal meth.

He now faces several drug charges and he was held in custody for a bail hearing.
