Breaking: Stratford Police charge five people in large drug bust

Stratford Police say five people have been arrested after a drug investigation.

SPS says their Street Crime Unit started an investigation into meth and cocaine trafficking in the city and the surrounding area.

They say that investigation resulted in the five people being arrested on Monday along with a large seizure of illegal drugs.

Police say a 51-year-old Stratford man was stopped in his vehicle on Erie Street and arrested on drug charges.

Officers searched his vehicle and found 404 grams of meth, 174 grams of cocaine, and 70 hydromorph capsules.

Search warrants were also executed at homes in St.Marys, Woodstock and Kitchener with more drugs seized.

The five people face various drug charges with the total value of drugs seized as a result of this investigation being $67,372.
