There’s a confirmed COVID-19 case at Anne Hathaway Public School in Stratford.

Chera Longston, Communications Manager at the Avon Maitland District School Board, tells MyStratfordNow.com that Huron Perth Public Health informed them on Wednesday about a confirmed case at the school.

Who the case is will be kept confidential due to privacy.

Longston says the board pulled together all of the information HPPH needs in order to conduct their investigation.

The class the person is associated with was sent home and Longston says it’s not clear if students will be able to return to school on Thursday or if they will need to self-isolate.

Longston says a letter provided by HPPH was sent to the school community notifying them about the case.

“It outlines the different roles of the school board, the school, the health unit and others so that everyone is understanding of everyone’s role in dealing with the case.”

Longston says the school is currently staying open and any close contacts of the case will be contacted by HPPH with directions on what to do.
