South Huron resident charged with impaired in West Perth

A 35-year-old South Huron resident has been charged with impaired driving after being stopped in West Perth.

Just before midnight on February 12th, Perth County OPP say they were conducting R.I.D.E. checks on Perth Line 20 and Perth Road 163 when they stopped a vehicle.

They say the investigating officer formed the opinion that the driver had consumed alcohol and the driver then failed a Roadside Approved Screening Device test.

The driver was arrested and brought to a local police station for further testing, where police say two samples of breath were provided.

They were charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus), had their driver’s license suspended for 90 days and their vehicle impounded for seven.
