Police charge five males with home invasion in Stratford

Five men face numerous charges after police say they broke into a home in Stratford.

Police say they were contacted just before 8 o’clock Saturday night about a home invasion-style robbery that had just happened on O’Loane Avenue.

According to SPS, five males had forcibly entered a home while brandishing what appeared to be a handgun and demanding money from the victims.

One of the victims was physically assaulted but wasn’t injured and the suspects took off in a waiting vehicle after stealing several items.

The vehicle was later found in Kitchener and all of the suspects were located and arrested.

They were charged with several offenses and also face other charges from incidents in the Waterloo region with the firearm turning out to be a pellet-style handgun.
