A Stratford-based caterer is the city’s latest Living Wage Employer.

The United Way Perth-Huron says Gourmet Chef at Your Table has joined the category.

Based on a 35-hour workweek, the living wage in the region is calculated regularly using local information.

It takes into account the living expenses of different family types including a family of four, a single mother supporting a seven-year-old child, and a single adult, once government transfers and deductions are factored in.

Everyday expenses in the calculation include housing, food, utilities, childcare, and transportation.

The living wage is $17.95 an hour in our region.
