COVID-19 outbreak declared on Medicine Unit at Stratford General

A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared on the Medicine Unit at Stratford General Hospital.

The unit is now closed to admissions until further notice.

Visitors, including outdoor visits, are not being allowed with the exception of visitors for palliative patients at the end of life.

Virtual connections may be allowed.  Family or caregivers of patients will be updated as to the status of virtual visits.

An outbreak is declared when there are two or more confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in patients or staff that could have been acquired at the hospital.  The Huron Public Healthcare Alliance is working with Huron Perth Public Health to notify family, caregivers, and staff affected by the outbreak and contact tracing is being done.
