An open-air fire ban is set to be lifted in Perth County thanks to the rain we’ve received lately.
As of midnight Tuesday, the ban will be lifted with burn permits now able to be issued.
Residents still need to follow their respective municipality’s open-air burn by-law and continue to practice safe burning.
Farmers are still being encouraged to be very careful with combining, as field fires can quickly overtake equipment, neighbouring crops and can spread quickly into adjacent woodlands.
