Stratford City Council providing over $80,000 for Optimism Place

Stratford’s Optimism Place is getting a boost when it comes to its expansion plans.
Stratford City Council voted at a special meeting on Wednesday night to provide over $82,000 in support to the women’s shelter and its 18-bed, 6,000 square foot expansion at its location on Freeland Drive.
The money is coming from a project-specific grant.
Optimism Place Executive Director Jasmine Clark tells MyStratfordNow.com she will be able to talk more specifically and openly about what the build will entail in September.
She adds the shelter has secured 80 percent of the $5 million to complete the project.
